CEO

Scott Kernan, CEO, brings nearly 35 years of experience in corrections and public safety to LEO Technologies. As the former Secretary of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Mr. Kernan is an expert in correctional policy. He also brings with him a lifetime of relationships with strategic partners in the public safety sector, including inmate phone service providers.

Chief Scott Edson retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) in 2017 after over 39 years of exemplary service, with his last position as the Sheriff’s Department Chief of Special Operations Division which included Counterterrorism, SWAT, Air Operations, Crime Analysis and Intelligence.

Steven H. Cook

Retired Associate Deputy Attorney General Steven H. Cook served with the US Department of Justice for 33 years. He served as a federal prosecutor, with cases focusing on the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. He was also the president of the National Association of Assistant US Attorneys.

James Sexton

Executive VP of Technology

James Sexton manages the day-to-day operations of LEO Technologies. Thanks to his unique experience in law enforcement and business, including direct experience with gang intelligence, he builds lasting relationships with partners and clients in order to further LEO’s mission to support the public safety sector.
